Daniel Williams is a visual artist from Southfield. They are a fourth-year student double majoring in communication and media studies and international studies and minoring in law, justice and social change through LSA. Artist's Statement
I am an artist who enjoys trying many new types of mediums. Right now, I draw, paint, embroider and write poetry. I have always been an artist. It is and will always be a part of my life. For this first piece, I decided to show respiration with a commentary on human interaction with our natural environment. These plant forms provide us with life. They will outlive us all if we do not destroy them. In my second piece, I showcase how humans will not last longer than the natural environment. Plants keep us alive. They feed us, filter the air and allow us to breathe. Thus, the flowers serve as the lungs of the skeleton.
